About Zach
I’m in my fourteenth year of teaching high school mathematics in Mid-Michigan. I currently teach AP Calculus, Algebra II, and an elective I created called Critical Thinking.
I spend a lot of time thinking about how to help people have tough conversations so that we can solve the most wicked of problems. As a certified Moral Courage Mentor, I work to bring the skills of Moral Courage to my school district and to use those skills in all of my interactions.
I’m also an Alliance for Decision Education teaching fellow and I occasionally do freelance work for them.
All of the above is aimed at helping my students become better problem solvers and better people. I believe better problem solvers and better people create a better society.
In my free time I enjoy doing anything outside, including playing volleyball, running, hunting, fishing, and woodworking. I also enjoy spending time with my family, drinking good coffee, reading, playing the guitar, and dabbling in philosophy.
